Kids Eat Free: How to Eat Out and Still Stay on Budget

In these tough economic times, families are struggling to put food on the table, much less find money in their budget for eating out. North Texas is no exception to the hard times.

Savvy consumers can save money by going to restaurants that offer programs where kids can eat free, or at a deeply discounted price. The program rules differ depending on certain criteria, but taking time to look for these deals can make eating out more affordable.

Dining places such as Steak n Shake, The Black Eyed Pea, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, Captain D’s, and Denny’s are among the list of participating dining establishments where kids can eat free or at a discounted price in North Texas. It’s probably a good idea to call ahead and confirm these money saving offers are still valid if you are budgeting your meal around these price cuts. This is a really good idea I’ve thought about in the past too. I don’t have kids yet, but I know all the places to go to once I do. It’s awesome they can eat free. I think doing most of your cooking at home is still the most inexpensive and thrifty way to feed a family, but to be able to go out every once in a while is nice too and this way you get to go out and the kids can eat free. It’s a win win situation. Here’s a good link, you can look up which city you live in or close to and find the restaurants that offer free food to kids:
