Have you looked at a bar of Dial soap lately and felt cheated or ripped off? Recently I purchased two different packages of Dial bar soap in two different scents - Tropical Escape and Aloe Green Tea scent. I was not happy when I opened the packages. The bars are much smaller now. I understand times are tough and companies are cutting back, but it’s an insult to consumers to so blatantly give less product for the same price. We all know it’s being done - that companies are giving us less product for the same amount of money we paid before - but at least most companies aren’t making it as obvious as the makers of Dial soap!
The Tropical Escape scent now has a big scooped out section on side of the bar and the Aloe & Green Tea scent is scooped out on both sides. It appears consumers are now getting 1/2 less the amount of product as before, but being charged the same amount of money - if not more money. Needless to say, I won’t be buying Dial bath soap any longer.
Let’s start a poll. Leave a comment and let me know if you’ve noticed the same thing with other brands of bar soap, or with other products?

According to Valassis, the company who distributes Red Plum coupon inserts, they are going to stop putting the money saving coupons in newspapers. Papers from all over the country are going to be affected, and million of us who rely on coupons will suffer as well.
I don’t know about you, but I rely on coupons now more than ever. Without them, it would be harder than ever to buy groceries to feed my family. I also wouldn’t be able to get extra freebie food items to donate to charity organizations such as food pantries.
There is a website dedicated to this topic at http://www.bringbackthecoupons.com/. You can also see if your area newspaper is one that will stop carrying the coupons by looking at this publication.
Do you use coupons? How will this affect your family or spending habits?

Pledge Multi Surface does clean and dust multiple surfaces if you only have light duty dust, dirt, or scum buildup - and will give you streak free results under these conditions as well. If you have a thick layer of dust or scum, you’ll need to use something stronger to clean with. Simply using this product alone on a heavy-duty household cleaning job will leave you with a streaky spotty mess.
I received my product free but looked online and it sells for around $5.50 at Walmart. That sounds a bit pricey but considering you can use this product in so many different areas, and a can lasts a long time, it’s a good bargain overall. I will buy the product again, mainly to use on my combination wood and glass furniture, but only when I find it on sale and have a coupon.

Arby’s has a promotion going where you get one of their new Roast Burger’s free with the purchase of a drink. You’ll need to go to their website and print off a coupon. The free food promotion ends on different dates for different locations so be sure to check the expiration date on your coupon.
There are 3 different varities of the Arby’s Roast Burger. I chose the All American, which has thinly sliced beef on a bun with lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion, ketchup, mustard and special sauce. The “special sauce” has a BBQ flavor and the sandwich reminded me of an old-fashioned Burger King flame grilled whopper - when they first came out and still tasted good. I can’t stand Burger King anymore though. But … let’s get back to the Arby’s burger. It was surprised that is tasted so good. It could have used some cheese, but I was quite happy with it overall. It was so big I could barely eat all of it.
If I remember correctly, the price for the sandwich woudl have been about $3.50 if I had paid for it out of pocket. The small drink cost me $1.69 with tax. Not bad for a burger and drink! As for the nutritional facts of the sandwich, I’m not a dietician, but I would venture to guess that the calories and fat content are comparable to a regular roast beef sandwich. A regular roast beef sandwich at Arby’s has about 400 calories, 20 grams of fat (7 saturated), 1030 sodium, 36 carbs, & 40 cholesterol. This is just a “guess-timate” on my part though and I don’t claim to be a dietician or even claim this nutritional info is correct.

On Tuesday, March 10th, FedEx (formerly FedEx Kinko’s) will let all customers print 25 free resumes. Orders have to be dropped off and picked up at the store. The resumes will be printed in black and white. Customers can bring a hard copy printout of their resume or bring it in digital format for printing. All resumes will be printed single sided.
The president and CEO of FedEx says this is one small way they can reach out and help those who are struggling to find a job. I say GOOD JOB FedEx … more companies should step up to the plate and help where they can.
