Consumer Scam Ripoff Alert: Dial Bar Soap Shrinking

Have you looked at a bar of Dial soap lately and felt cheated or ripped off? Recently I purchased two different packages of Dial bar soap in two different scents - Tropical Escape and Aloe Green Tea scent. I was not happy when I opened the packages. The bars are much smaller now. I understand times are tough and companies are cutting back, but it’s an insult to consumers to so blatantly give less product for the same price. We all know it’s being done - that companies are giving us less product for the same amount of money we paid before - but at least most companies aren’t making it as obvious as the makers of Dial soap!

The Tropical Escape scent now has a big scooped out section on side of the bar and the Aloe & Green Tea scent is scooped out on both sides. It appears consumers are now getting 1/2 less the amount of product as before, but being charged the same amount of money - if not more money. Needless to say, I won’t be buying Dial bath soap any longer.

Let’s start a poll. Leave a comment and let me know if you’ve noticed the same thing with other brands of bar soap, or with other products?

Pledge Multi Surface Spray Cleaner - Product Review

Pledge Multi Surface does clean and dust multiple surfaces if you only have light duty dust, dirt, or scum buildup - and will give you streak free results under these conditions as well. If you have a thick layer of dust or scum, you’ll need to use something stronger to clean with. Simply using this product alone on a heavy-duty household cleaning job will leave you with a streaky spotty mess.

I received my product free but looked online and it sells for around $5.50 at Walmart. That sounds a bit pricey but considering you can use this product in so many different areas, and a can lasts a long time, it’s a good bargain overall. I will buy the product again, mainly to use on my combination wood and glass furniture, but only when I find it on sale and have a coupon.

Texas Finally Cracks Down on Uninsured Drivers

It’s about time the state of Texas is doing something about uninsured motorists by creating a program called “TexasSure”. The Texas legislature directed the Department of Insurance, Department of Public Safety, Department of Transportation, and Department of Information Resources to create the “TexasSure” system. It’s a vehicle insurance verification system that has a database that contains information on every registered vehicle in Texas and matches that info with data submitted to the state from insurance companies. This database is then accessible to law enforcement and tax assessor-collectors to they can verify whether a car has the required auto insurance. If the required insurance is not in place, the motorist will face penalties such as fine and suspension of drivers license. According to the TexasSure website, this new program aims to put an end to uninsured motorists, drivers dropping coverage after receiving a valid insurance card, and fraudulent insurance cards.

I am overjoyed that Texas is finally trying to ensure everyone on the road has car insurance. My family has been bitten in the behind numerous times by having our car hit by someone driving without insurance - which means we were left holding the bag to get our car repaired and/or pay hospital bills for injuries as a result of the wreck. We either had to cough up the money out of pocket, or tap into our own car insurance coverage to pay for the damages. This meant our insurance rates went up - all because some irresponsible person was behind the wheel of a car without having car insurance.

All I can say is I hope this new program works! It’s about time we law abiding citizens who do whatever it takes to make sure we have car insurance quit having to foot the bill for those who disobey the law. If someone can’t afford auto insurance then they should not be driving.

You’ve got to be kidding! Dubai hotel considers air-conditioning the sand on the beach!

Just when I think stupidity and waste can’t get any worse, and people can’t stoop any lower, I stumble across another “say what” story. According to a news story on Yahoo News, a new hotel being built in Dubai is thinking about air-conditioning the sand on the beach around the hotel!! What are they thinking? If their “richey-rich” clients don’t want to be hot on the beach then let them stay indoors!

Seriously, this is the height of waste and inconsiderate behavior. Even if we put aside the fact that piping AC outdoors for the sake of mere vanity is a wasteful assault to the environmental eco-system, piping air conditioning outdoors is still wrong on so many other levels! People all over the world are starving, struggling to makes ends meet, put food on the table, clothe their kids, and keep from going bankrupt. These goofballs want to throw money away by air conditioning SAND - outdoors - on a beach!

The investors and executives making these decisions need to be stripped of all their possessions and made to walk in the shoes of an average citizen. That money they are wasting on extravagant unnecessary “luxury” could help so many people around the world. ARGH!!!! What do you think about this?

18 wheelers - scary truck drivers!

Oh my goodness! I know people driving cars have bad habits that distract them from they road. They talk on the phone or send text messages, yell at their kids, turn around and swat at kids, read newspapers or other material, eat … all sorts of dangerous things. I had no idea truck drivers did the same thing! Today I witnessed all of the above (except the kid thing) from people behind the wheel of a semi truck!!! Talk about scary! Egads, it’s bad enough for folks in cars to not pay attention to their driving, but semi trucks and concrete truck drivers … that takes scary to a whole new level for me! What do you think?
